Mind in Motion

Train Your Mind. Elevate Your Performance.

Mental performance training for athletes who want to build confidence, improve focus, manage pressure, and perform at their best. At Mind in Motion, athletes develop practical mental skills that support performance today and personal growth for life beyond sport.

Your Mind Is Part of Your Game.

You wouldn’t expect to get stronger by walking into the weight room once and lifting a heavy weight. Physical strength is built through intentional practice, repetition, and consistency. Mental strength works the same way.

Mental performance is the intentional training of psychological skills and mind-body strategies that help athletes perform at their best and thrive both in and beyond sport. Just like you train your body to become stronger, you can train your mind to become more prepared, focused, confident, and resilient.

Mental performance training can help with:

  • Perform more consistently under pressure

  • Manage thoughts and emotions

  • Respond effectively to mistakes and setbacks

  • Build confidence, focus, and resilience

  • Enter and sustain an optimal performance state

  • Maximize your physical potential

Every athlete has thoughts and emotions. The difference is learning how to work with them.

Meet Allison

I'm Allison Koenig, a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) with a background in sport and performance psychology, mental health counseling, and competitive athletics.

I earned master's degrees in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology and Mental Health Counseling, allowing me to bring together performance-focused training with an understanding of the person behind the athlete.

As a former NCAA Division I athlete and USA Rugby athlete, I know firsthand the highs and lows of competition, from the pressure to perform and fear of making mistakes to the challenge of building confidence and performing when it matters most.

I created Mind in Motion to help athletes develop the mental skills they need to perform with greater confidence, focus, composure, and consistency to develop skills that can serve them both in sport and in everyday life.

My Approach

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental performance. Every athlete has different experiences, goals, strengths, and challenges.

My work is athlete-centered, practical, and collaborative. I often use a cognitive behavioral approach, focusing on the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they can influence performance. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be getting in the way and build a personalized set of mental skills and strategies you can actually use in competition.

Whether you’re struggling with confidence, overthinking, mistakes, pressure, focus, motivation, or simply trying to take your performance to the next level, my goal is to give you tools that extend beyond a single game or season.

Most importantly, I want athletes to feel understood. Mental performance work isn’t about “fixing” something that’s wrong with you. It’s about understanding yourself better, building skills, and learning how to respond more effectively when it matters most.
