About Me

Allison Koenig

Mental Performance Coach | CMPC

I'm a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) with a background in sport and performance psychology, mental health counseling, and competitive athletics. I created Mind in Motion to help athletes develop the mental skills they need to perform with greater confidence, focus, composure, and consistency.

I believe the mental side of sport isn't something athletes are simply born with. Just like physical skills, mental skills can be learned, practiced, and strengthened.

I earned Master's degrees in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology and Mental Health Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato. This combination allows me to bring both performance-focused training and a strong understanding of the person behind the athlete.

My interest in mental performance comes from both my education and my own experiences as an athlete. I competed as a NCAA Division I rugby athlete at Quinnipiac University and represented USA Rugby on the U18 and U20 teams. My passion for mental performance is deeply rooted in hockey, where I grew up playing and have spent years coaching youth hockey players. I've experienced firsthand the highs and lows of competition from the pressure to perform, the fear of making mistakes, the challenge of confidence, and the difference between feeling prepared in practice and performing when it matters most.

Who I Work With

I work with athletes across a variety of sports and competitive levels, including youth, high school, college, and professional/elite athletes. Sessions can focus on a specific performance challenge or on building a broader mental performance foundation.

My goal is to meet each athlete where they are and help them move toward where they want to be.
